After several years' delay, the new replacement for the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards might be coming soon! It's called the Liberty Protection Safeguards, and we have a new programme that covers everything you need to know about the legal framework. We're doing a taster - a half day course; and a more in depth full day programme.
Introduction to the Mental Capacity Act 2005.....A
one-day course giving delegates an understanding of the act, how it
affects their working practices, and how to work safely and legally
within it. A short half-day version of this programme can also be
delivered.

We are now also offering a full day Advanced Mental Capacity Act programme, aimed specifically at managers and senior practitioners. This programme has been very successfully run for social workers at Hackney Council several times
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards -.....Under court rulings, DoLS has changed in its meaning, and who it applies to. This one-day course enables participants to develop their understanding of this complex area, and feel more confident with the issues involved. "A gilded cage is still a cage". Safeguarding Adults - basic awareness.....Every organisation that works with adults at risk, or has the potential to work with this group, needs to know that its staff are fully aware of the procedures involved in the Safeguarding Agenda. This interactive programme covers all of that knowledge, but puts it into a practical setting, and makes it easy to understand. It includes essential issues contained in The Care Act. The course will be shaped to your organisation's individual needs, and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
